PictureI wish.
Breakfast: at the Tastee Diner.  As my husband said, if this had been our first meal at the Tastee Diner, we probably wouldn't ever be back.  I ordered two pancakes, a banana to cut up on top of the pancakes, and bacon.  When the waitress brought my pancakes, she said they were out of bananas, which was a disappointment.  I asked for strawberries, also on their menu.  They didn't have them either.  What kind of fruit did they have?  Blueberries.  Only blueberries?  Yes.  I ordered blueberries.  They came, obviously thawed frozen blueberries, all wrinkled and cold in their monkey dish.  Between the blueberries, the strangely chewy yet also undercooked pancakes, and the especially disgusting cheap syrup, this was an unpleasant experience.  The bacon was tasty, although I had to blot it thoroughly with a napkin because it didn't appear to have been drained in the kitchen.  The waitress at no point offered to refill our empty water glasses or coffee cups, and my husband said she squirted syrup all over the guy's lap at the next table, which must have been fun for no one.  Being out of fruit was not her fault, though.  It was a rare occasion where I left half my food on the plate.  Not that anyone offered me a box.

Lunch: Eaten at the mall where I was shopping for a dress for my husband's firm's Christmas party, ack.  I was hungry again because I hadn't eaten much breakfast.  Two kinds of sugar-coated chicken and fried rice from the "Chinese" food court buffet.  I guess it was "bourbon chicken" and "chicken with broccoli," but they both tasted more or less the same.  Delicious in their generic, sugary way.  My life is going all to hell.

Dinner: Madhur Jaffrey's Buttery Soft Slices of Deep-Fried Eggplant with Garlic, lentils, white rice, roasted vegetables (potatoes, carrots, red bell pepper, shallots).  The eggplant  slices were a disaster.  They were undercooked on the inside and had taken on so much oil on the outside that they were disgusting.  I threw one of my two slices away-- that's extreme, for me.  Planned to throw the rest away too... but the next morning found me baking them, removing excess oil as much as possible, and baking them some more, trying to render them edible.

Snacks: 3 cups of coffee, 2 regular, 1 decaf (at the Tastee Diner).  3 small cups of mulled cider while we were decorating the Christmas tree before dinner.  Cup of sake with after-dinner TV.  The sake is now gone.

Hey, did I mention we put our tree up?
